Sliding Resistance
This test shows the force required for the indenter to “slide out” of the support surface.
Why this test is needed
The tendency to slide out of a support surface imparts shear to the tissue and reduces the occupants functionality.
How this test is performed
A loaded buttock shaped indenter is applied to the support surface and is pulled laterally and the force is measured.
