Testing
Water Strike Through
This test measures the time for penetration of liquids through the support surface cover (strike-through).

Why this test is needed
The presence of moisture at the body cushion interface is known to be one of the strongest predictors of ulceration. How a support surface deals with moisture at the interface defines its value in managing.
How this test is performed
A specified quantity of simulated urine is discharged under specified conditions onto a test piece of nonwoven material which is placed on a reference absorbent pad. The time taken for all the liquid to penetrate the material is measured.
